SMANIA Srl is specialized on the design and development of invasive neural interfaces for peripheral and central nervous system. Our products combine innovative design enhancing electrical and mechanical performance during in-vivo applications. TRADITIONAL THIN FILM
Traditional thin films intrafascicular electrodes have a flat thin film structure made of polyimide substrate with Ti/Au electric contacts (4 up to 10 channels). They are inserted into a peripheral nerve longitudinally or transversally. The gold active sites enter into direct contact with neural fibers inside nerve fascicles.
SELINE: SELF-OPENING INTRAFASCICULAR ELECTRODES
SELINE is our innovative thin film intrafascicular electrode with a 3D self-opening structure. Sensorized wings will open after the insertion into the nerve maximizing selectivity and stability of the neural contact.
SMANIA is able to design and develop customized neurodevices for different neuroscientific experiments (e.g. uECoG, Antennas for wireless neural interfaces, Regenerative Electrodes, Shaft Electrodes).
